La embarcaci\u00f3n, cuya entrada en servicio est\u00e1 prevista para la temporada 2026-2027, destaca por combinar tecnolog\u00eda de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n, sostenibilidad y una experiencia de exploraci\u00f3n exclusiva.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Construido en los astilleros <strong>ASENAV de Valdivia (Chile)<\/strong>, el Magellan Discoverer ser\u00e1 el barco gemelo del exitoso <strong>Magellan Explorer<\/strong>. Adem\u00e1s, incorporar\u00e1 importantes mejoras en eficiencia energ\u00e9tica, comodidad y capacidad de observaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Uno de los elementos m\u00e1s innovadores del <strong>Magellan Discoverer<\/strong> es su sistema de <a href=\"https:\/\/new.abb.com\/news\/detail\/112674\/abb-to-power-first-hybrid-electric-polar-expedition-cruise-ship-built-in-south-america\"><strong>propulsi\u00f3n h\u00edbrido-el\u00e9ctrico<\/strong><\/a>, que lo convierte en el primer buque de expedici\u00f3n polar h\u00edbrido construido en Am\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esta tecnolog\u00eda <strong>combina motores di\u00e9sel de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n compatibles con la normativa IMO Tier III<\/strong> y un avanzado sistema de b<strong>ater\u00edas marinas de ion-litio<\/strong>. Como resultado, optimiza el consumo energ\u00e9tico y reduce significativamente el impacto ambiental de las operaciones en la Ant\u00e1rtida.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gracias a esta configuraci\u00f3n, el buque podr\u00e1 navegar utilizando la energ\u00eda almacenada en las bater\u00edas durante determinadas maniobras o fases operativas. De este modo, se logran disminuir las emisiones de CO\u2082, el consumo de combustible y el ruido submarino que afecta a la fauna local. Adem\u00e1s, el Magellan Discoverer incorporar\u00e1 sistemas de recuperaci\u00f3n y reutilizaci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda, incluido el aprovechamiento del calor residual de los motores para la calefacci\u00f3n de espacios interiores.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La embarcaci\u00f3n ha sido dise\u00f1ada espec\u00edficamente para cumplir con los m\u00e1s altos est\u00e1ndares de sostenibilidad en regiones polares sensibles. Sus sistemas h\u00edbridos mejorar\u00e1n la eficiencia energ\u00e9tica global del barco, reforzando el compromiso de Antarctica21 con un turismo de exploraci\u00f3n responsable y de baja huella ambiental.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Por otra parte, el Magellan Discoverer cuenta con clasificaci\u00f3n <strong>Polar Class 6 (PC6)<\/strong>, lo que le permite operar de forma segura en aguas ant\u00e1rticas mientras combina innovaci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica, seguridad operacional y respeto por el medio ambiente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abb.com\/global\/en\">ABB<\/a> ha desempe\u00f1ado un papel fundamental en el desarrollo de este buque, al suministrar la avanzada <strong>tecnolog\u00eda Azipod\u00ae y el sistema inteligente Onboard DC Grid\u2122<\/strong>. Gracias a estas soluciones, Magellan Discoverer se ha conviertido en el primer crucero polar h\u00edbrido-el\u00e9ctrico construido en Am\u00e9rica.<br \/>\nAdem\u00e1s, estas innovaciones mejoran la maniobrabilidad, reducen el consumo de combustible hasta un 20 % y disminuyen el ruido submarino, favoreciendo una exploraci\u00f3n m\u00e1s sostenible de los ecosistemas ant\u00e1rticos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ABB y CT Engineering Group<\/strong> llevamos teniendo una relaci\u00f3n estrecha desde 2022, que se refleja en nuestra participaci\u00f3n en actividades en m\u00e1s de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ctengineeringgroup.com\/es\/project\/mantenimiento-sistemas-proteccion-electricos-buques-abb\/\">60 barcos de la empresa<\/a> durante estos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gracias a esta relaci\u00f3n, <strong>ABB confi\u00f3 en CT para realizar la labor de SITE MANAGER<\/strong> en la fase de puesta en servicio de todos sus sistemas en este proyecto.
