The growing expansion of and investment in renewable energy requires increasingly reliable, connected, and resilient infrastructures capable of meeting the evolving needs of the industry. For the past two years, CT Engineering Group’s SCADA and Telecontrol team has been responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of the control and communication systems across all Iberdrola photovoltaic plants in Spain and Portugal. These assets are of significant strategic value, and their availability and capacity are essential to the grid operator. With more than 5 GW of generation capacity across over 50 plants, maintaining continuous connectivity and operational control is critical.

All of these plants are monitored and operated from Iberdrola’s Renewable Energy Control Center (CORE) in Toledo.

To achieve this, CT has spent more than 15 years developing and commissioning SCADA systems for wind, hydroelectric, and photovoltaic facilities, with nearly 100 plants successfully integrated worldwide.
