CT Engineering Group Develops the Digital Twin of the Auxiliary Systems at Iberdrola’s EIMA Building

CT Engineering Group has collaborated with Iberdrola at the EIMA building in Madrid by developing a digital twin of the electrical auxiliary systems that ensure the power supply throughout the entire complex.

The project involved digitally modeling the auxiliary electrical infrastructure, integrating technical information from the various equipment and systems into a single digital platform. This solution provides an up-to-date virtual representation of the facility, facilitating its management throughout its entire lifecycle.

As part of the project, CT Engineering Group carried out the electrical network modeling in ETAP, enabling the review and update of the protection coordination study. This analysis helps ensure proper protection selectivity while enhancing the safety and reliability of the building’s power supply.

A Digital Twin to optimize operations and maintenance

One of the main advantages of the solution developed is the integration of all signals from the auxiliary systems into the digital twin, enabling centralized monitoring of the various assets and facilities. This capability provides a comprehensive real-time view of the infrastructure’s status, optimizing supervision tasks and facilitating the early detection of incidents.

The combination of the digital twin and the electrical model in ETAP significantly improves operations and maintenance activities, increasing asset availability, reducing intervention times, and providing a solid foundation for technical decision-making.
