The Martitime Action Vessels (BAM) are four offshore patrol boats belonging to the Spanish Navy that were built by Navantia at its shipyard in San Fernando – Puerto Real; they are based at the Military Arsenal in Las Palmas (Gran Canaria).
CT participated in the project, developing a big part of the functional engineering and the detailed engineering.
Built to replace the old patrol boats of the Barceló, Anaga, Conejera, Toralla and Descubierta Classes, the BAM can respond to threats in low-level scenarios.
These vessels specialise in patrolling and protecting missions in the Exclusive Economic Zone, carrying out rescue operations and providing assistance in the event of catastrophes. With a view to this, they are lightly armed and equipped with resources for rescue missions or for combating marine pollution.
